I use it on my furniture all the time and the results are fantastic. It even smells like brand new leather when I'm done!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14852171.post-23843174126401604002008-10-22T09:59:00.000-06:002008-10-22T09:59:00.000-06:00The leaching was actually a problem before I start...The leaching was actually a problem before I started using conditioner . Since I've started doing so and applying as stated it hasn't been a problem at all.

I'm thinking part of it might be that since I don't ride with bike shorts and ride longer distances regularly this way, more perspiration gets to the saddle and leaches the dye, as opposed to a cyclist wearing padded shorts for longer rides, or street clothed rider doing shorter distances <8-10 miles. I checked with Brooks customer service and they confirmed this and reccomended more conditioner to help reduce the problem

Thats when I spoke with Rivendell and and ordered the Obernauf's and tried the application method from my friend who'd done military time. The two combined has resolved the problem. The Stoutshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16594580348073717356noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14852171.post-74683249523692336252008-10-22T09:35:00.000-06:002008-10-22T09:35:00.000-06:00I think you are using too much leather conditioner...I think you are using too much leather conditioner. The conditioner is leaching out and bringing the dye with it. The purpose of leather conditioner is to replenish the tanning oils that dry out over time. A little is necessary but more is not better.

Bill
Wallingford Bicycle PartsUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07330109608040695872noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14852171.post-74582461681863782862008-10-20T18:43:00.000-06:002008-10-20T18:43:00.000-06:00I ride for transportation. I ask because this was the recommendation on the Rivendell site. As for my new B-17 standard black I warmed the entire saddle in the oven and then applied top and bottom x3.

Carlgetinlosthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11240515454256225290noreply@blogger.com
