Albany Bulb rebar bike

Beating Craig Calfee and Alex Moulton to the punch, the hermit who lives at the end of the Albany Bulb has chosen a widely available weldable stiff structural material for his bicycle frame.

Did "the hermit" once work for Mongoose? The rear dropouts & the head tube gusset look a lot like my old cruiser!

Great post armageddon bike. Don't piss off the hermit, you may be buying goods and services from him after the economy falls apart.

i freakin' love it... well balanced and strong. i can weave through people on sidewalks or cars in traffic with no hands... very responsive... also a couple times i've hit decent sized things (branches, rocks) at high speed/no hands, big jolt, then the bike trues itself and stabilizes instantly, all without having to put my hands back on... ya baby. i've often carried large very heavy packages on handlebars, and still good control.... best bike i've ever had...

A bike for the Thunderdrome rather than the Velodrome!
