All the cops in the donut shop say ay oh way oh

Look and see where the Boston police bicycle patrol like to hang out.

They sing and dance (oh whey oh),
Spin the clubs cruise down the block.

I get the feeling they work off the extra calories...

I'm with Warren T...gotta dig the Bangles reference. Only your 40-something readers will get that.

While we're on the 80s rock theme, here's a really great cover performance:
Go Gos, I Wanna Be Sedated. Sigh. I miss the 80s. Even Reagan seems warm/fuzzy by comparison. Never thought I'd say that.

Cops on cycles is a good thing...until you think about it. More bad PR for the world of cycling...

It's weird how this stuff just pops in your head. I see cops in the donut shop and *bam* I hear the song.

Gotta love the 80s. When I was a teen I was totally in love with guitarist Susanna Hoffs, or at least the music video depictions of her.

Bike patrol officers I've seen, incidentally, are just as prone to "bad behavior" as other cyclists -- they run stops and red lights, ride on the sidewalk and ride on the wrong side of the street, not to mention that horrendous "pack" behavior people always complain about. I've even seen a 3 man bike patrol riding without any lights in the middle of the night.

At least the bike cops maybe, just maybe break even on calories, as opposed to the pudge rolling around in patrol cars.
