The Edinburgh, Scotland city council staged the city's first Commuter Challenge on Friday. From four starting points, contestants riding bikes, bus, or car raced to the finish point. Bookies even placed odds on the contest, predicting that the bus riders would win, with bikes having only 33 in 1 chance of winning from one of the starting locations.
