Lance Armstrong art bike

Artists Shepard Fairey and Kenny Scharf applied their contemporary art to a pair of Lance Armstrong's Trek bikes.

Fairey, whose "Andre the Giant Has a Posse" and "OBEY Giant" art remains popular with skaters, created the Barack Obama "HOPE" poster. Scharf is known for his work inspired by cartoons and popular culture.

According to Armstrong, these bikes will be ridden in the Giro d'Italia and then auctioned off for the LIVESTRONG Foundation. The 100th Giro d'Italia begins this weekend in Rome on Saturday May 9, 2009.

I like these...and the idea seems like a pretty good way to raise money for Livestrong. Nothing wrong with that.

Loving em!

The way Astana are crumbling apart this could be the last bike Armstrong ever rides, unless of course he decides to buy them out -> http://www.heavensports.com/cycling/cycling-legend-armstong-ponders-astana-buyout/

Lance is WRONG!!! It is about the bike!!!Aparently he has never ridden a classic steel COLNAGO,etc, Fully Campy Super Record equipted.I don't dispute his ability, because with all due respect he would leave me in the dust.Campy lost it when they designed the newer ugly modern components. If you ride a classic IT IS ABOUT THE BIKE!!!

Anon, I like the spirit of your comment :-) When Lance started racing in the 80s he certainly rode steel.
