SF to Maker Faire Ride Report

I really was planning on going to Maker Faire at the San Mateo County Fairgrounds, but unfortunately I was overcommitted this past weekend and by the time Sunday rolled around, I was completely out of gas. My apologies to my friends who I said I'd meet!

Chris Carlsson of SF Streetsblog posted a good ride report of the San Francisco to San Mateo bike ride to Maker Faire with plenty of photos. If you rode your bike, you got a substantial $10 discount off of admission. The Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition provided bike valet parking for the third year in a row at Maker Faire.

Gladwyn D'Souza of SVBC told me that, as of Sunday at about noon, 1500 cyclists had valet-parked their bikes. I'm not sure if that's a record for SVBC but it must be close. Several of us rode to Maker Faire from the South Bay on Sunday and we met up with other Faire attendees on two wheels along the way. As usual, the Faire had lots of fascinating human-powered exhibits with a variety of propulsion methods and wheel counts.
