The weather forecast calls for snow tomorrow evening. I get to ride to work in the morning with a 40 mph headwind. I suppose I should write something about winter cycling since I'll be doing that tomorrow night, but I'll point you to CycleDog instead, who offers his perspectives on riding in the snow.
I ride the fixed-gear in wet and slushy. For ice (slick and hard-ice frozen ruts), I have a cheap garage-sale mountain bike with a studded front tire.
If you haven't seen it yet, you really should check out IceBike if you plan to ride in snow and ice.
