When lives collide

Read this. It's powerful and compelling. That's all I can say about it.

I see some problems here.

1. To make the assumption that wearing or requiring one to wear a helmet during cycling has in some way put people off to cycling as an activity is ludicriss! Ahem.....motorcycling anyone? No, I'd say it would be much more accurate to assume that people do not cycle because it's too painfull, and too much work. Why ride a bike when you can drive with all those creature comforts, and it's "quicker"? I could go on, but I won't here.

Finally, the helmet thing is poo poo'ed by lots of people spouting all sorts of stats that may or may not have any relevancy. Here is my simple question, If wearing a helmet while cycling might save your life, then why wouldn't you wear it? It doesn't hurt, nor hinder you, and it certainly has the potential to lessen the severity of a possible crash. So, why wouldn't you wear one?
